Flat Lay

A carefully arranged photo of all race day gear spread out on a flat surface, usually taken the night before a race.

The Flat Lay Ritual

The Flat Lay serves two purposes:

  1. Social Media: It looks cool and signals "I am racing tomorrow."
  2. Checklist: It ensures you haven't forgotten anything (shoes, socks, bib, gels, watch, hat).

Essential Elements

  • The Bib (center stage).
  • The Shoes (clean if possible).
  • The Outfit (singlet/shorts).
  • Nutrition (gels laid out in a row).
  • Electronics (watch, headphones).
