Calf Sleeves
Compression gear that covers the lower leg from ankle to knee without covering the foot.
What are Calf Sleeves?
Calf Sleeves are essentially compression socks without the foot part. They act as a tube of elastic fabric providing compression to the calf muscles and shins.
Why Choose Sleeves Over Socks?
- Sock Choice: You can wear your favorite running socks (thick, thin, wool, etc.) without being forced to use the sock built into the compression gear.
- Versatility: Perfect for triathlons (swim with them on under a wetsuit) or for days when you want to run barefoot on the beach but support your calves.
- Fit: easier to fit since foot size isn't a factor.
Warnings
Do not wear calf sleeves for recovery while sleeping or sitting for long periods. Unlike compression socks, sleeves can potentially trap fluid in the foot if the ankle band is too tight, leading to "cankles" (swollen feet). For recovery/travel, full socks are generally safer.
