B Race

A secondary race used for training or testing fitness, run at a hard effort but without a full taper.

The Tune-Up

A B Race is often a "tune-up" 4-6 weeks before your A Race. For example, running a half marathon hard to test your fitness before a full marathon. You might rest for a day or two before, but you don't do a full taper.
