Recovery Run
A very easy, short run done within 24 hours of a hard workout or race.
What is a Recovery Run?
A Recovery Run is performed at an exceptionally slow pace. The goal isn't to build fitness, but to increase blood flow to tired muscles, helping to flush out metabolic waste and ease stiffness.
The Secret
The biggest mistake runners make is running their recovery runs too fast. If your heart rate gets too high, it becomes another training stimulus instead of a recovery aid.
"Run slow to run fast."
