Rungry
The intense, almost uncontrollable hunger that hits after a long run. Run + Hungry = Rungry.
What is Rungry?
Rungry (Run + Hungry) describes the insatiable, almost primal hunger that strikes after a long run or hard workout. It's when you could eat everything in sight—and probably will.
Why Does It Happen?
After a long run, your body is in recovery mode:
- 🔥 Burned through glycogen stores
- 💪 Muscles need protein for repair
- ⚡ Blood sugar may be low
- 🧠 Brain demands quick energy
The Rungry Experience
You know you're rungry when:
- That post-run banana disappears in 3 bites
- You're planning your meal during the last 3 miles
- Everything in the fridge looks delicious
- You eat breakfast, second breakfast, and elevensies
Legendary Rungry Moments
I once ate an entire pizza, a pint of ice cream, and a bag of chips after my first marathon. And I was still hungry. — Every marathoner, ever
